Escape Week Australia

11 - 17 September

The Event

Hello fellow escape room owners,

We are Chris and Jesse, escape room owners from Canberra, and we are working hard to organise Australia’s first Escape Week. Escape Week aims to band together as many escape rooms as possible to support a good cause. This year we've chosen to support The Black Dog Institute who are dedicated to understanding, preventing and treating mental illness. Mental illness is very common to our customers. One in five (20%) Australians aged 16-85 experience a mental illness in any year. The most common mental illnesses are depressive, anxiety and substance use disorder.

Joining this event won’t just benefit the charity but it will also help raise awareness of escape rooms as an activity around Australia. We are aiming to get widespread exposure from this event through newspapers, publications, television, Facebook and more outlets across the country. The impact of this event is going to rely on the number of businesses participating. The more businesses that participate the greater the impact will be both for the charity and as an advertising campaign. We are confident that the escape rooms industry, as a whole, will benefit from this event. All participating escape rooms will also have their logo, with links to their website, displayed on our page to indicate which companies are participating in Escape Week, as well as additional material to display in store.

Escape Week is 100% non-profit, every cent raised through this event will go to The Black Dog Institute. Our only costs will be for advertising materials and packages that we will send to each participating Escape Room.

What we are asking of you as an owner is to agree to donate 20% of profits for the entire duration of Escape Week (11-17 September). Hopefully the publicity from the event will make it a very busy week for all businesses. If you wish to donate above 20% of profits, that's more than welcome.

There are 79 escape room businesses in Australia and all are eligible to participate. Below you can see how many companies are involved already.
